We would like further inspire our young leader and we hope to holistically equip the young leaders with the knowledge of Cultural Entrepreneurship. One of the distinctive features of social entrepreneurship was to explore the dynamics of cultural entrepreneurship. Over the years, the pivotal role of cultural entrepreneurship in Malaysia has long been under scrutiny by policy-makers, NGOs, young generations, and scholars. Prior to that, the policy makers rarely extend the effort in establishing entrepreneurship to areas such as literature, the arts, and film, whilst the latter may look at cultural activities from the perspective of non-profit seeking or non-commercialization. Cultural activities and development programs deemed as cost-consuming activities. KDU University College, in collaboration with UNESCO, thus aims to educate future leaders about the sustainability of cultural entrepreneurship and about how ‘Cultural Enterprises’ use beliefs, customs and the arts as a second economy to develop financial stability from cultural activities. We're bringing together a group of distinguished scholars, entrepreneurs, and advocators from diverse backgrounds to investigate and discuss this previously neglected field.
